London - Cold War Modern: Design 1945-1970
Cold War Modern: Design 1945 - 1970 runs from September 08 - 11 January 09 and is the first exhibition to explore how contemporary design, architecture, film and popular culture were shaped by the Cold War, an era of high tension and exceptional creativity.
The exhibition brings together over 300 iconic exhibits from a Sputnik and a space suit to films by Stanley Kubrick, paintings by Robert Rauschenberg, fashion by Paco Rabanne, designs by Dieter Rams, architecture by Le Corbusier, and vehicles including a Messerschmidt micro-car.
